    41 Trades, 41 Wins 331 Pips

41 Trades, 41 Wins 331 Pips- My Long USD/JPY and Short EUR/USD paid off nicely for some repeated gains. I spiced it up with some short GBP/USD and Long EUR/CHF. Pretty good for 2 1/2 hours of work and a nice way to start the weekend.

Earlier, I posted the trades I was looking at that had nice setups. Then I went ahead and used the FXCM Active Trader Platform with its tight spreads and Level II-like Market Depth to begin my scalping run.

I may still have more scalping to go! Join me in Greg McLeod's Pip and Run 6AM/10AM GMT Real Time Forex Trading Room to see if I can do this in front of an online audience!

Unfortunately, losses are a part of trading. However, you are welcome to come to my 6AM trading room:
    Regards,

    Greg

Any Trader Without a Proven Plan Holds a Shovel

Hello seanelaine. I know too many scalpers and day traders who are successful for me to take that statement seriously as only pertaining to scalpers. However, since 90% of all traders lose money, this statement may hold true for those that do not have a proven method or a systematic approach to short-term day trading. The statement would then extend beyond day traders to also include all types of traders that trade without a proven plan.

    Thanks for your post!

    Hello pkdoo7,

I use a multiple time frame "trend scalping" approach. My directional time frame is my 30-minute chart so I look to take trades in the direction of a 30-minute trend. But I move down to a 5-minute chart to look for entries buying dips on the 5-minute chart when the 30-minute trend is up and selling rallies on the 5-minute chart when the 30-minute chart is down.

Watch the following videos on multiple time frame analysis and trading with stochastics. Substitute the time frames that I use for the ones they use in this video. This is the approach that I use. Also look to trade between 7 am GMT and 12pm GMT as these times are highly liquid and also keep you out of US economic news cycle.

    http://forexforums.dailyfx.com/daily...ochastics.html (DailyFX: Trading with Stochastics)

Trade in demo using this method until it becomes comfortable and you can recognized the patterns.
