  1. Are the Recent Rallies of Silver and Euro related?

    During most of January silver and the Euro rallied from their slump of past months. These two indexes tended to have a strong relation in recent months, but has the relation between the two tighten? Could we explain the rally of silver during January with the appreciation of the Euro?

    During January 2012, silver rose by 20.1%; the Euro/USD also increased by 1.41% during the month and by 4.3% in the past couple of weeks.

  2. Weekly Outlook for 23-27 January

    Following the sharp changes in the Forex markets, partly due the S&P's announcement to cut the credit rating of France and Austria, this week will start with the news of S&P estimates a negative outlook for the European Union. During last week gold and silver increased, while energy commodities such as oil and NG declined. There are many news items to be published this week that could affect commodities and forex markets including: U.S. GDP growth rate for fourth quarter, U.S. new home sales report, EU's monetary development, FOMC meeting, and BOJ's rate decision.
