1. DAILY FORECAST FOR USDJPY

by , 03-18-2012 at 10:50 PM (The Daily Forecaster)
BIAS: Look for a decline to 82.42 before the rally can resume

Resistance: 83.56-62 83.94 84.17-32 84.52
Support: 83.18 82.65-92 82.42 82.15-25

MAIN ANALYSIS: Price did not follow-through higher on Friday and has seen a second dip to the 83.19 low. This is pointing us lower and I look for follow-through today, initially to the 82.65-92 projection area but then see a pullback higher but probably seeing the 83.18-19 lows act as a pivot resistance for losses down to 82.42. I am expecting this to support for a rally back higher that should revisit the 84.17 high. We then have two choices for the final high - at 84.32 or 84.52-83.

2. AUDUSD broke above the downward trend line

by , 03-18-2012 at 10:35 PM (Free Forex Market Analysis)
AUDUSD broke above the downward trend line on 4-hour chart, suggesting that lengthier consolidation of the downtrend from 1.0855 is underway. Range trading between 1.0421 and 1.0665 would likely be seen. As long as 1.0665 key resistance holds, we’d expect downtrend to resume, and another fall towards 1.0200 is still possible.

GBP/USD was up almost 200 pips, closing the week at 1.5835. The upcoming week is quite busy, with eight releases. Here is an outlook for the upcoming events, and an updated technical analysis for GBP/USD.

Despite the mixed economic news coming out of the UK, the pound had a late surge last week, as it continues to perform well against the dollar in 2012.
