  1. News in 60 Seconds: Oil hits a new 52 week high, hurting USD, helping the CAD!

    Biggest % gainers: EUR/CAD up 0.89%, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, EUR/JPY on mild dollar and yen weakness and on mild euro strength.

    Biggest % losers: USD/CHF down 0.58%, USD/JPY, AUD/CHF on mild CHF weakness and mild dollar weakness.

    Gold $1,155
    Oil $83.47 (another 52 week high on oil!)

    CHF Retail Sales lower
    at 0.6% vs. 1.9% expected but last time was revised upward from 3.1% to 3.6%.

    CAD Housing Starts better
    at 175k vs. 161k expected and last time was upwardly revised to 165k from 159k.

    CAD Building Permits worse
    at 04.6% vs. -2.6% expected but last time upwardly revised to 20% vs. 18% last time.

    NZD NZIER Business Confidence number comes out at 4pm ...

    U.S. Dollar Moves Lower Overnight

    The dollar index has recently broken below the 77.00 area, reaching the lowest value over the last few weeks of trading. It appears the dollar index has formed a swing point following weaker than expected NFP data, released on Friday. Since early December, the currency market has been in long dollar mode, as the U.S. economy showed some signs that it will recover faster than it main counterparts, such as the Euro-area and the U.K.. However, Friday’s NFP data has showed that the recovery is not as strong as had been priced in, forcing the market to re-value the dollar index once again. 2010 had been announced as a year of uncertainty, and it seems
