If the lower boundary is broken I would get short. Of course keep in mind that risk-reward considerations are very important, so if GBPUSD were to crash a couple hundred pips through the boundary because of a spike in volatility it may not make sense to get short because price action has veered too far towards the target on the initial push to make the trade worthwhile.

As always, flexibility is important.

Golden nuggets of forex trading

Bollinger bands are very useful in determining price direction. You will notice that whenever the bands tighten, price explode out in a direction that is pretty much determined by the attitude of the 200 EMA

GBPUSD weekly

Definitely there is a triple bottom and there is another support area showing on the weekly chart.......... so that zone is going to be difficult to penetrate.

There are many factors to be considered in the marketplace...... such as.. the diversity in the types of people who are active in it, traders using different time frames, governments adjusting interest rates etc.

The amount traded by the public, such as day traders is relatively insignificant in the total currency market.

Not all people use trend lines, many people use a few different approaches for their decision making, trendlines is just a part of the process.....

For everything that we do that utilizes similar methods, that are so many people using different methods (or just guessing). And like blaiser said, what individuals are doing in th market is much less than other groups, such as the big banks, etc.

Jackclown, what is that most recent chart you put up?

He is using some trend lines to support a 'measured move'. his trend lines look pretty convincing. we will have to watch future developments to see if he nails the next move...

Hopefully he will remind us.....
