    Bid price when backtesting

    Hi,

Please can someone tell me how I can get the exact bid price when back testing? I can get the open\high\low\close of a bar but can't seem to get the bid. I read somewhere that I can use

    Bars.StatusLine.Bid

for live testing but that this doesn't work when backtesting. How can I access the bid?

    Thanks for any help.

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

During backtest, depending on the precision of your strategy, the close could be deemed as the bid price (assuming this is a Bid chart).

If you need the bid price for intrabar, you'll have to enable the Bar Magnifier and adjust the bid price inside the bars.

Bar Magnifier can be enabled by right-clicking on the chart -> Format Strategy Advisor -> press the Properties button -> under Backtesting tab, check the Use Bar Magnifier box and configure the precision that you want.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Jimmy
