Haven't heard much from qsx. Suppose he'll post something though when he feels he's onto something.

Always good to hear from the whole crew.

Elliotticians......... Rule question ???

This was one of my first questions here I posted several weeks ago. I don't remember if I got an answer. Here is a good example on the chart!
Sorry to bring up Rule Wave 4 again....... LOL.
Is this a violation of a Wave 4 into wave 1, or is the wave count wrong.
Should we only look at the body of the candle, or must we include the wicks( spikes). I included the prices to compare Wave 1 and Wave 4.

JK.

However, so far, the yen has been able to bring down the dollar more in USD/JPY. So it shows that JPY was the victor over longer periods of time as stocks fell off.

But you can usually watch USD/JPY to see if the USD or JPY has the upper hand at the moment. That's what I do.
Sean;

Here is an illustration of what I've discovered. When the $xjy (yen) price is above the 50 day sma, stocks tend to decline. When below, stocks tend to rally.

First of all, let me state that I'm no EW pro ...I'm still reading and learning more all the time. However, I was reading two nights ago in Prechter's book, The Elliott Wave Principle, and he stated that in "non-leveraged" markets, 4 shouldn't go into wave 1 (on page 31 of his book in the 10th edition version). However, in leveraged markets, he implied that sometimes it can for a short period of time.

I'd like to hear what the experienced guys have to say about this. I've got my notepad out. hehe!...ready to learn.

Probably, one more push down and then up into the 750 to 765 area.

Good Luck.

Yes...... I'm aware of that. it's stated on pg. 31.
I was hoping someone here could answer that question, because from what I observed the E.W. counts seem to get altered.
Just my humble opinion!

aerocom, Yeah, that's a great observation. I also used to use the VIX reading too as a general gauge. A high VIX was good, generally, for the yen. A low VIX was generally bad for the yen...but this wasn't tick by tick but a pattern over days, weeks, etc.

marketwavez2, funny video.

Hey we could really use your EW expertise on that question on the last page. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I'm sure you know the answer.
