Sleep well...
And when you wake up, answer the question - who are "they" ?
Are they special and don't feel these two basic feelings,
namely "greed" and "fear" ?
And if you are talking about the government, then, isn't it obvious that
they ("they") are always few steps behid, not before the market ?
Finally, rest some time and look at the charts again.
That happens to me also quite often that i simply don't see the picture clearly.
But this is not "they", this is simply my perception, that's all

Very well said Ravno. You could also consider this, the markets are always manipulated. When the manipulation ends the markets always go back to normal. What's normal?
Good Luck.

here is how I have been counting this mess lately.
I try not to go into the smaller timeframes when corrections like this occur. As you know Prechter advises a 1h chart, I find the 4h to be pretty accurate when it comes to more complex patterns like the ones we have had over the last couple of weeks.
I find a series of double zigzags and currently a double zigzag into a diagonal triangle. I think this move will end soon and trendlines shown are being respected for now.
Diagonals are very specific as they only occur at certain points in EW.
In this chart we see leading diagonals and ending diagonals in A and C waves.

yes, right, agree, that would be more correct.
the markets are always manipulated
the question is if you see the "proper" count and ready to risk or not...

They never go back to normal ......
( because they have never been normal )
All is manipulated .......................
==========================
Is there order in chaos ? ...............
----------------------------------------------- -----------
but when it comes to trading Forex
....... the Usd/Yen pair is highly manipulated
much more so than any other of the major currency pairs
--------------------------------------------------- ----------- --------- ---------

But does it all really matter when we percieve the markets from the wave theory view ?
I don't think so...
Actually, i believe that the manipulation fact itself comes at the right point of the wave structure.
Or, let's say, the people start talking about the manipulation right at the moment when it's supposed to happen
So, in the chaos there is a very beautiful order...
The problem is only in human's brain. It can't see this order all the time.

My dear fellow ellioticians, question for you:
Would this be a valid count on the cable? There is an expanding triangle in wave 2. I have seen it once, but is it against the "rules"?

he who thinks that markets are "manipulated" is he who thinks he knows what the market is "supposed" to do ... as if the whole world is wrong and is out to get this genius analyst/trader's mini-account through "manipulation"
a bit arrogant, no?
$2-3 trillion traded in the forex markets every day, and this whole market is out to get that poor genius's mini-account, just AWFUL!

Quite unlikely... Generally, there can be no triangle in the wave 2 position.
There could be some sort of complex correction, which looks like a triangle.
But no triangle.
Actually, I liked more your idea (was it you or somebody else?) with the expanded Flat. I liked and still like it

Hm, actually he gave a link where somebody from the trading floor was talking on TV that the markets are manipulated now...
Edit: Or you mean that the people from trading floor manage mini-accounts ?
If so, then sorry, i didn't get your humor Nice joke

Thanks Ravno.
I don't know if you have read Prechters ebook on Gold and Silver Download Robert Prechter's NEW Gold and Silver eBook - Elliott Wave International but on page 3 is a silver count and there is a triangle there in wave 2 if you count (not indicated) you can see an abcde type correction. That is how I got my idea for this count. But, the count I posted would also be an ending diagonal, which would make sense for a wave 5. I have never seen a wave 2 like this in an ending diagonal. However I am going to keep it as an alternate count and see where it ends up.
