    Yes,
Ricko is right, DJIA did show a peak. I must have been thinking about Nasdaq.

If someone did a dollar-value-adjusted charting of DJIA I believe it would have FALLEN for the past many years.
When USD is weak, prices of commodities go up, including stocks.

    My present positions

    GBPJPY - Long (167.0)
    AUDUSD - Long (0.6600)
    AUDJPY - Long (65.21)
    EURAUD - Short (2.0534)
    CADJPY - Long (85.04)

I picked JPY crosses for long because robot says go long in USDJPY...

With EURAUD at dizzy heights, we will 'take the staircase down" and with it AUDUSD will move up too. There is a stoploss of about 30-50 pips.

    BTW, time for some humor:

    -------

    A Japanese doctor said,
"Medicine in my country is so advanced that
we can take a kidney out of one man, put it
in another, and have him looking for work in
    six weeks."

    A German doctor said,
"That's nothing; we can take a lung out of one
person, put it in another, and have him looking
    for work in four weeks."

    A British doctor said,
"In my country, medicine is so advanced
that we can take half of a heart out of one person,
put it in another, and have them both looking for
    work in two weeks."

A Texas doctor, not to be outdone said,
You guys are way behind. We took a man with
no brains out of Texas, put him in the White House
and now half the country is looking for work."

Well, I didn't get a margin call but burnt my fingers to the elbow with EUR/AUD, I think I would need a much larger account to play that pair (I have traded it before in less turbulent times). I watched it today to take the elevator again from 2.04 to 2.07 in a split second and thought that's scary.

Made some good gains today and yesterday but got stopped out on my EUR/USD longs on the blip higher, there are lots of false breakouts at the moment and the gaps will always close, but enough to stop you out.

I will wait a bit more to see the action, Thanksgiving can bring some volatility but soon it's weekend for me. Good luck all, I will start taking long AUD trades from next week and maybe some long EURs as well, but we might still see 1.27 before it will stabilise somewhat. Then again, maybe not.

The way to play breakouts would be to have two accounts, long/short with about 40 pip stops. Let one lose and other run 500 pips...

    Easier said than done!

In that case I think the problem is having stops. If you have two accounts and have a short and long trade of the same pair, you don't need the stops if your entry points are good. Actually I can do it with the same account but I usually mess it up. I much prefer running a hedge in another pair, that way I can have a stronger conviction in their direction and let each one run its course.

Melbourne is a more exciting place ....anyway, have fun in Sydney.

Some highlights from the latest IMF forecast for Australia: Growth around 2%, so no recession, unemployment about 4% so no dramas expected there, banks are ranking 4th in the world so if it wasn't for the commodity price slump, the AUD would be just as safe as the Yen if not safer.

CMC markets prediction: Gold will hit $1100 by december. If that happens it will skyrocket commodities and with ut AUD and pairs.
