When viewing the MT4 history, you may notice an adjustment in the trade history titled Auto-Account Sync.

FXCM reconciles the MT4 statement with the FXCM statement via Auto Syncs to ensure the balance on MT4 reflects the balance on the FXCM statement. For example rollover is calculated by FXCM then transmitted to MT4 via an Auto Sync to either add or deduct rollover (swap).

The FXCM statement accessed via www.myfxcm.com or the FX Trading Station II is the record of statement for MT4 accounts. It is important to understand MT4 is only an interface and that a client should reference the read only FXCM Trading Station to confirm their executed prices and orders.

How do I partially close trades in the live MT4 account?

While clients are able to partially close...

While clients are able to partially close positions on the MT4 demos it is not a feature available on live MT4 accounts at this time. The live account trades utilize the Boston Technologies bridge which is not able to support partial closes yet.

If you want to scale out of positions, it is recommended that you open your trade via multiple tickets instead of opening one ticket with the entire amount. This way you will be able to close a specific amount at each exit point.

Hi Jason,

I have seen quite a lot of talk on the web about MT5. Are you aware of the new features that MT5 brings to the table? Can you share some info in this thread?

Will FXCM upgrade to the new BT trading desk? And if so, when?

Regards,
David

Q. I am an MT4 user, how will my account be affected?

A. On May 17th, the following restrictions will be in place to be in compliance with the new rules:

- You will not be able to place Entry Orders in opposing direction of any existing Open Positions
- You will not be able to place Market Orders in the opposing direction of any existing Open Positions
- Pending Entry Orders in the opposing direction of any existing Open Positions held into this weekend will be deleted

*Clients are encouraged to plan their orders/trades and modify EA's accordingly based on these restrictions ahead of the May 17th deadline.
