Frequently Asked Questions on MetaTrader 4 Live Accounts

Q. When I try to log in, it says "invalid account" in the lower right hand corner. Why?
A. Please enter the MetaTrader 4 account number in the log-in field, your password in the password field, and �mt4.fxcorporate.com� in the server field.

Q. How do I know if I'm logged in?
A. You will know that you are logged in if you see numbers moving in the lower right corner of the client terminal.

Q. What do I do if my charts are not updating?
A. If the charts are not updating, please right click on the charts and choose the option to "refresh". If that does not work, please close and reopen the charts by right clicking on a symbol and choosing new chart.

Q. How do I confirm that the client terminal works before placing large trades?
A. We advise you to place a small trade at first to test the system. If you see any error messages or any other messages, please contact support at support@bostontechnologies.com immediately and provide them with as much information as possible.

Q. How do I change my password?
A. To change your password, go to "Tools" in the top menu, and select
"Options" in the drop down menu. Select the "Server" in the Options menu that appears. Enter your new password in the "Password" field, and click "Change".

Q. I changed my password, but I forgot what I changed it to! What do I do?
A. Please send an e-mail asking for a password reset to logins@bostontechnologies.com from the e-mail address that matches your account.

Q. How can I see all the symbols?
A. To see all available symbols, please right click in the market watch window and select �View All�.

Q. Where do my stop loss and take profit orders go?
A. Please note that limit, stop, stop loss, and take profit orders reside in MetaTrader 4 and at activation a market request will be sent to FXCM.

Q. I need to modify my stop loss or take profit, but I'm not at my computer! What do I do?
A. FXCM phone dealers cannot see your limit and stop orders in MetaTrader 4. They cannot modify your orders in MetaTrader 4 or cancel orders in MetaTrader 4. For this purpose, please contact Boston Technologies at support@bostontechnologies.com, or +1-617-314-6800 (office and back-office hours: 8:00 to 17:00).

What is the minimum to open an account?
The minimum for FXCM's MetaTrader 4 platform is $2,000.
How do I register for a demo account?

Is hedging available?
FXCM Australia accounts offer hedging.
Why do orders get rejected due to "off quotes"
All market execution orders on MT4 will be filled at the best price available in the market. An order may be rejected if the requested trade is not confirmed by our banks. This is a rare occurrence and client should notify client services. Click here for contact numbers
Can I trade Micro lots?
The minimum trade size with FXCM is 10K. This is represented as a volume of 0.10 in the MetaTrader platform.
Why do I get get the error message "Trade Context Busy"?
All market execution orders on MT4 will be filled at the best price available in the market. There can be a delay in getting a confirmation from our banks. This message appears if the cancel button is pressed while an order is in the process of execution. To resolve the error message Trade Context Busy, log out and log in to the FXCM Metatrader 4 platform.
Does MT4 have the same NDD price feed as the FX Trading Station?
Yes.
Will I be able to upload my Expert Advisor?
Yes.
Will phone orders be allowed?
Phone dealing is available but only to place stops/limits to close an open position. You can also place pending / entry orders. Market orders are not available via phone.
Is MT4 mobile trading platform available?
This capability will not be available for the initial release.
Will I be able to manage other people’s accounts?
Initially FXCM will not be offering the MT4 MultiTerminal software. This is a feature that we may be offering in the future.
Will fractional pips be offered on MT4?
Yes.
Will I be able to open a EUR, GBP, USD, AUD or JPY MetaTrader accounts?
Accounts are available denominated in AUD or USD.
Will I be able to download the software on my Macintosh computer?
The MT4 software will only be available for Windows based applications.
Will I have access to DailyFX+?
Yes. All FXCM live account holders have access to DailyFX+View a tutorial of the site here: DailyFX+ Walkthrough
Will I be able to use the MT4 and FXTS software interchangeably?
Once your live account is setup, you will be provided with a login for MT4 to place trades and a read only login for the FXCM Trading Station. You will not be able to place trades from the Trading Station.
Will one-click/double-click features be available on MT4?
No. This feature is only available through the FX Trading Station.
Will MT4 allow for partial fills on large orders?
Yes.
Will there be order size limits on MT4?
No, there will be no order size limits on MT4. Large orders can be executed through partial fills.
Will my client terminal need to be on for the trailing stop to execute?
Yes. This is a limitation of the MetaTrader software. This is not the case when trading via FXCM’s FX Trading Station.
Can I have two accounts show in the MT4 client terminal?
Only one account will show at a time in the MT4 Client Terminal.
What build of MT4 is FXCM offering?

There are currently two different technology providers for MT4.
If the icon on your desktop says FXCM Trader 4, your GMT offset is -4
If the icon on your desktop says FXCM MT4 powered by BT, your GMT offset is +1
