    [Order2Go] Order2GoDDE

    Order2GoDDE

    Language
    Visual Basic 6

    API Version
    Order2Go v01.02.112607

    Description
This application uses the Order2Go in a basic application that makes the BID and ASK rates and TIME from the dealing window available through DDE. It can be used with a Demo or Real account. Please note that for a real account, you should have your account enabled for "Multiple Session Access".

    Usage
Step 1) Please register for a valid FXCM demo account. If you do not have one please click here.
Step 2) Please install the Order2Go runtime on your computer. You can install it here.
Step 3) Download and unzip the application Order2GoDDE_Application.zip below.
Step 4) In the unzipped folder, double-click on the application Order2GoDDE.exe
Step 5) Once you have logged into the DDE server with your demo account go to Order2GoDDE.xls in the same folder to view an example of the DDE in Excel.

(Please note that you can also use a real account login, though we recommend that you contact FXCM to request multiple session access before doing so, otherwise, the DDE may log you out of your Trading Station.)

    DDE Feed into TradeStatio 2000i

The Order2GoDDE application is able to make the FXCM prices available on your computer via DDE. Unfortunately, FXProgrammers does not have the tools to then get the feed into TradeStation 2000i.

You may be able to obtain these through third party software providers that are able to get a DDE feed into TradeStation 2000i. Evan though DynaStore cannot connect directly to our accounts, it may still work with DDE. Otherwise you could look at a product like MetaServer from http://www.tssupport.com/addons/ms/.

Unfortunatelly the Dynastore try to link the FXCM DDE Price Server that has the FXPS server name. It doesn't match the O2GDDE server name of this free server. So Dynastore in DDE version is not possible to be used in this configuration.

I'm in trouble for that reason. I've installed now the original FXCM DDE Price Server application, but actually it's having a 2 hours downtime and seems impossible to have some detailed informations about this software calling FXCM. Seems that just in 2 or 3 in FXCM know about it!

Can anyone here help me understanding this software? I neither know exactly where it logs in cause I see isn't a trading account.

    Thanks,
    Alessandro

    Thumbs up "time" format?

In the excel format, how can I get the "time" format? Should I swap the "=O2GDDE|Bid!EURUSD" to "=O2GDDE|Time!EURUSD" in the column of spread?

Time Now Included in Order2Go DDE

The Time has now been added into the Order2GoDDE application and source files. Please re-download the file in the original post.

The format is included in the excel file provided, but will be in the form of:
    "=O2GDDE|Time!EURUSD"

    Hourly trade data

Does the DDE application make it possible to download hourly trade data?

    DDE Hourly Data

The DDE application only makes the current bid and ask prices from the dealing rates window available via DDE. There is no historical or summarized data, such as hourly available through this application.

To get that, you would need to record the data yourself, or use our Price Engine Client SDK (http://www.fxprogrammers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22) if you meet the requirements.

I've followed the instructions to the letter but cannot get the software to run.

First error shown is "Active X cannot create object"

Then the server login screen dialogue shows "core not initiated"

Any help would be more than welcome

At any rate Happy & prosperous New Year to all

Please try to run the updater program to see if there is a newer version of the API. To run the Updater please go to Start->Programs->FX Order2Go -> Update Order2Go.

Let us know if this helps.

I ran the updater...I still get the error:
    ActiveX component can't create object.

I hit ok on that error screen and then get :
The dialogue box to log in with my username and password and a scrole box for real or demo...

I enter that information and then I get a new error:
    object required
