Java Trading Platform Corporate Firewall and Proxy

You may need to set the proxy settings to get access to our servers. To do so:

1. Open the Java Trading Platform.
2. Go to File->Options->Server->Proxy Server.
3. Change the value of UseProxy to true.
4. Enter your proxy information in there.

You may be able to locate your proxy information for Internet Explorer by going to Tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings and copy the information into the Java Trading Platform.

Please post back if this solution does not work.

Java Installed?

Lana,

Have you checked that you have Java installed on your Mac.
If not, please go to http://www.java.com to download the latest version of Java onto your computer.

If this does not work. Please describe what happens when you click on the Launch button.

Java TS Source Code

The source code for the application is included in the Java API documentation. In order to get the source code, you would need to apply for the Java API.

Red face Works fine under Linux (KUbuntu) but...

It doesn't seem to correct for non-USD denominated trading accounts...

It has a difference with my Windoze driven FXTS2 that is *exactly* the EUR/USD rate... And guess what? I have a EURO-mini account!

It works great for what I need it to do though: open and close trades when I am not near my Windoze Tradingstation, and only have my Linux Laptop handy...

Currency Pairs

The currency quotes will remain the same regarless of the account denomination. With EURUSD it is still the ratio of Euros in Dollars. The only difference you will see between the different demoninated accounts would be the pip cost of each pair since all profits and losses would be in currency of the account.

For example the pip cost of EURUSD in a dollar demoinated account would be 1.00 per pip where as in a EUR demoinated account it would be .81.

Exclamation I was referring to the open trades overview

In the open trades and the account information, the unrealized profit is calculated at every pip-change...

Those values *are* off by a factor of 'EUR/USD'...

The quotes are indeed the same, as they should be...

Problem with Buy/sell in Tradestation (JAVA), pls help

hello,

I am an FX trader and I am really intersted in trading with FXCM, I have been trying my hands on the demo usinng the JAVA palatform. But I have been experincing a big problem, when ever I try to buy a currency, it says "market price has moved" I am sure it is due to the kind of internet connection I have here. But then I try to use the "at market" coloum in the market order dialog, I believe that is suposed to solve that problem, but it says "incorrect Vlaue". I have tried dvalues rainging from 1-100. But the same reply

Pls can someone explain how this works, or give me the values that can be accepted by this colum. This experience is really frustrating, because I have an open position, that won't close, and the losses is running into hundreds of dollars.

Thanks for you time,

Alex from Nigeria.

Post Java TradeStation

The atMarketPoints feature is new to the Java TradeStation. Currently it does not work properly but we are working on getting that resolved.

As always if you have a position on your live account that you need to urgently close, you can always contact us using one of the toll free numbers, http://www.fxcm.com/contact-fxcm-exchange.jsp, and we would be able to pass you to our dealing desk or come on chat and we can have one of our sales representatives give you a call and foward you to the dealing desk.
