I encountered exactly the same problem.
Since 2 days ago the trading station program started to have the same symptoms you described...
Note that there were no changes in my computer softwares or operating system...
Any idea ?

unable to launch trading station
For the past two weeks, I have been getting unable to launch FXCM trading station when I try to bring up the java version of the trading station. Does anyone know what to do? I have cleared my java cache numerous times, and this does not seem to fix the problem. I am using an Ibook G4 Mac computer.

This was an issue that clients experienced recently but has been fixed in the last few days. If you are still experiencing the problem, please take a screenshot of your desktop with the error and either post it here, or send it to techsupport@fxcm.com .

I cant get the JAva Trading API to launch.
An error occurred while launching/running the application.
Title: FXCM Trading Station

Category: Invalid Argument error
The application has requested a version of the Java 2 platform (JRE) that is currently not locally installed. Java Web Start was unable to automatically download and install the requested version. The JRE version must be installed manually.

"Unable to launch FXCM trading station"
Hi adminstrator,
I last launched the JAVA FXCM trading station few months ago. Back then it was OK.
Today I launch and after installing the updates i got the error prompt "Unable to launch FXCM trading station". The detail error message is as below.
Fyi, I CAN access fxcm.com and dailyfx.com at work but I cannot access fxcmtr.com at work as it is BLOCKed. I am using IE and I did not notice any popup blocker.
Please help to resolve.
Thanks
Kevin

Could you please let us know what version of Java you currently have on your computer, as well as your operating system.
Also include whether you are accessing this at work or at home, and if the FXCM Trading Station works correctly.

First time user
I installed and ran the java app for the first time today, at work.
I got an error message including the following text after my computer labored to connect.
"Login failed. Server does not return session id. Terminal 'Real' with url 'http://fxcorporate.com/Hosts.jsp' "
I run XP pro on a PC behind a work firewall and I do not have access to a proxy user/pass. I have the latest java updates.
The regular downloaded Trading Station works fine at home with my login/pass.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Could you please see if you are able to run a trace route to http://www.fxcorporate.com from your office.
Click Start>Run...
Type in "cmd" and click enter.
This will open up a command prompt window.
At the prompt, type in "tracert www.fxcorporate.com" and click enter.
This will show if you are able to contact our server. If you are not able to, you may require a proxy. Please let us know if this is the case.

It returns a bunch of "Request Timed Out".
I had initially hoped there was a completely web-based platform, much like trading stocks. I am able to access my stock trades using a web-based broker. I was hoping that FXCM had a similar type of web-based platform.
If you have any suggestions to get this to work without a proxy, I would be very interested.

Actually, I didn't give it enough time, I guess.
This is some of the output:
1 <1ms <1ms <1ms 10.132.XXX.X
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.
20 64ms 67ms * 204.8.240.52
21 63ms 62ms * 204.8.240.52
30 62ms 61ms * 204.8.240.52
Trace complete.

There is no way at present to save the layout of the windows. The suggestion will be forwarded to our developers as a potential future upgrade.
