i just created a demo account and i want to log into the trading station, i keep recieving an error message stating that "Cannot connect to ....." what do i do?
Hello shanelb, and thank you for your post! On behalf of myself and everyone here at FXCM, welcome to the forum community!
When I try to log in to the Trading Station II platform I receive the following error message: "Cannot connect to fxcorporate.com server". How do I resolve this issue?
If you receive an error message that begins with, "Cannot connect to fxcorporate.com server", then the computer you are using cannot connect to the Trading Station II platform.
Why isn't my computer connecting, and how do I fix it?
If the computer you are using cannot connect to the Trading Station II platform, here are some potential solutions:
Windows Vista Users:
If you are using Windows Vista, right click on the Trading Station icon on your Desktop and select, "Run as an Administrator" from the drop-down menu. If you are not using Windows Vista, skip this step.
Configure your Firewall:
Your firewall may be blocking the FX Trading Station from connecting to the internet. To connect, please open your personal firewall settings and allow the FXCM Trading Station II with Internet Access.
Use a Wired Connection, if possible:
If you are using a wireless connection, please switch the connection to a physical connection and login. Sometimes a wireless connection will not be strong enough to support a real-time price feed and the weak connection will result in connection issues.
• Tip: If you need to use a wireless connection, disable any symbols you do not trade to reduce the resources required to maintain your connection.
I am still having connection issues, what should I do?
If you are still experiencing connection issues, don't worry! There's a quick and easy way to test your connection by running a Trace Route and we have setup a full visual walkthrough of how to use it!
Video Demonstration:
For additional login help please click here (Trading Station II Login Help). If you find that you are still not able to login to the platform then please send me a screenshot of the error message that you are receiving when you attempt to access the Trading Station II platform and I would be more than happy to continue to help you troubleshoot this issue.
How can I take a screen shot of the error?
You can take a screen shot by following the simple steps below:
1. Bring the image you would like to post onto your computer screen. Then take a snapshot of the image by clicking the Print Screen (or PRT SCRN) key on your keyboard. This will store the image of your screen into memory. (The Print Screen key is usually to the right of the F12 key on the keyboard.)
2. Open a simple graphics program on your computer, such as "Paint". You can find "Paint" by by clicking on:
Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint
3. Once Paint is open, press CTRL + V on your keyboard to paste the image of your screen.
4. Edit the image accordingly, and then save the file to your desktop or anywhere you'd like on your computer.
5. Send the screenshot of the error as an attachment to julius@fxcm.com
Please let me know either way whether or not you are able to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you again for your post shanelb! Please feel free to post with additional questions or send me an email directly at julius@fxcm.com
