First limit long was triggered on the dip just below 1.95 early this morning, I assume because of the GBP trade news release?
+100 pips on it now, shooting for +1.97, S/L moved up to +50pips (around 1.956ish) as I don't have access to my broker during the day.

It definitely needs to make it through this 1.965 resistance first off. A good close above that and I can see price continuing upwards to 1.97.

Looks like this thing will have to sail further towards the support mentioned earlier (1.945 range) and with the help of poor US retail sales tomorrow, maybe we can get on up to the 1.97 (or higher) range.
Below is screenshot of my entry and exit...
Good evening everyone and good luck on this one.

Wow, black.day, you're on a roll today! Well done!
Seems like 9360 is a possibility in the coming days, though probably not today considering the hour chart.

Just joined in, looking to play short term on GBP/USD pair. 9472 look good for a USD sell for GBP?

The dollar and its majors are very active this morning. I'm seeing significant breaks in both AUDUSD and USDJPY; but the others are still bound to their major ranges. So, given this activity, should GBPUSD finally break from its wedge this time around, or is this yet another good range trade opportunity?
I'm seeing consumer confidence (which is likely to be worse) and CPI (which has a close connection to Bernanke's hawkish rhetoric this week and could therefore drive interest rate expectations highs...) this week. Can these numbers drive not only this pair but the EUR, CHF, CAD out of their wide ranges?
I think the ranges could last at least for a while, but I feel more comfortable in expressing that through a short USDCHF position.
What do you think Black.day? Finally a break this week, or keep with the range?
