Question Problem to use API after fresh install FXOrder2Go_06192008.EXE

Hello,

I am a new user for Order2Go API and am trying to get started using VBE (Visual Basic for Excel 2003). I try to import the examples but I got a compile error. Could someone post an example to help me to start.

I am sending the log files and the excel example I am trying to deal with in a separate email.

thank you for your support.

Question Further with Excel

Hello,
I try Order2Go_Excel.xls and was able to login properly.
Does that mean that I installed properly FXOrder2Go_06192008.EXE ?
How can I get fresh data in a spreadsheet?
For example, the last day for Bid, Ask and Time for real-Time data (from yesterday to Now) for a couple of pairs such as ?

EUR/CHF
EUR/GBP
EUR/JPY
EUR/USD
...

Do you have an example we can use/
Thanks,
kersabazic

You should be able to retrieve live data in Excel spreadsheet once you have logged in.

Once you have opened the Order2GoDDE.xsl, an alert will pop up:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This workbook contains links to other data sources.

- If you update the links, Excel will attempt to retrieve the latest data.
- If you don't update the links, Excel will use the previous information.

Note that dad links can be used to access and share confidential information about your permission and possibly perform other harmful actions. Do not update the links if you do not trust the source of this workbook.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please choose "Update" if wish to retrieve live price feed.

Question Reformulation of the questions asked so far

Dear Administrator,
Thank you for your reply but you don't answer to my questions.

1/ Does that mean that I installed properly FXOrder2Go_06192008.EXE ?

2/ How can I get fresh data in a spreadsheet?
For example, the last day for Bid, Ask and Time for real-Time data (from yesterday to Now sampling every minute) for a couple of pairs ?

In other words, I am not looking for one real-time in the spreadsheet, but a sort of pipeline (first-in, first-out) with may-be the last 10,000 updates about one day of observation sampling a couple of times per hour.

By the way, I prefer the RTD function not using the DDE, as an example you provide in the free applications FXCMRTD, working faster and better in my opinion. What is missing is the code to build the pipeline from the fresh data to keep in memory the last records (size TBD)?

Sorry if I was not clear enough in my request, and I hope now it is.
Best Regards,
kersabazic

Please try to compile the VB examples with a VB compiler, if the examples can be compiled successfully, the Order2Go should have been installed.

Trying to give Excel 2003 extra Memory, use Visual Basic?

I have Excel 2003, and I am trying to extend the memory/cache so that once I've typed some material on one Sheet of the Workbook, it will go to a different sheet and recall that memory... I've hit Alt+F11 and that enters Visual Basic, but I am clueless how one would store items in a Cache, and then retrieve them.

Help!

Dan

Dan,

You would not really store to cache, per se. with VBA you can write to values to variables in modules which then you can access from different sheets. At that point you can control when and where this value is displayed. The biggest thing is that the value should be declared in a module versus a sheet so that you have access to it from different sheets.
