Hello David,
Simply enable "Use Date" under the MT4 strategy tester and select the dates for which you want to trade. If you get an error is because there isn't any price data available in your MT4 for the time frame you chose so in that case use a shorter time frame. See attached image.

Hello Escobar,
It looks like you wish to customize an indicator. The solution you want is not currently available so we would have to sit down an modify the code so that it does what you want, and this could take several hours of programming. If you are willing to pay for this send us an email to consulting@fxcm.com and provide some more details as the type of objects or values you wish to have displayed on FXCM's Marketscope.

You wouldn't be able to access the FSS platform with an MT4 account. It requires a separate account number to access FSS.

Corrupt data link
Hi,
Just noticed chf/jpy and eur/nzd have corrupt data in the chart windows for 1h and above. If you goto tools/history centre you can see the data, is it possible to correct the fault ( I have tried but there is no save button, so the data goes back to its original settings) or is the problem a server download fault?
Cheers

Nasty spike on the NZDUSD chart
This happened a little after 5:00pm EST today (Thursday, October 8, 2009).
It would've gone unnoticed if you were looking at the chart and not the tick chart. As you can see the ask price jumped to 0.7460 while the bid price was at 0.7420 - a spread of a whopping 40 pips!
Is there an explanation for this or is this to be expected in FXCM / MT4?

Hi Artin,
For something like this, please check with client services to investigate if it is a bad tick. If it is a bad tick that got through on NDD feed, we will make an adjustment.

Trading in mini contracts in MT4
The contract size in the MT4 starts from 0.1 to 8 which means that I can trade up to 8 standard contracts using the platform. Can I check on how to use the platform when I decide to enter 16 mini contracts? Normally I chose to deal in 10 mini contract instead of 1 std contract especially in swing and breakout trades where I want to take half the profit or take half the loss whichever when the price reaches a certain level.
IN my other platform IG Markets, we are provided a choice to trade std or mini contracts and the we just specificy the lot size and exit easily. I know that different platforms differ. Appreciate your input on that
Thanks
Kenny

Hello,
I understand that you are interested to trade on metatrader, but some of you wish to try on a demo first. Well I don t know if fxcm let people try demos for free,
anyhow, I am now trading with fxopen, who does offer MT4 platform with not only an ECN price feed but also true ECN/STP execution and fills. The demo is available for any1, you don t even have to talk to a representative, you download it from the website.
download the terminal, and u ll have it.

The MT4 demo accounts are available through FXCM UK
MetaTrader 4 Platform | FXCM Metatrader 4 Broker
All MT4 accounts with FXCM UK have hedging and are non-FIFO (you can close positions in any order). The execution on all live MT4 accounts is NDD/STP.

Hi kenchong,
Thanks for the question.
10 mini lots is equal to 1 standard lot. If you wanted to trade 16 mini lots in the MT4 platform, what you should do is type 1.60 as the volume in the order window.
One thing to keep in mind is that FXCM's MT4 platform currently does not have the ability to partially close trades. You can on a demo but not on a live account. Instead, you should open multiple positions which you can then close out at specific profit or stop levels.

Hi Sam,
It's not possible to download ticket data from MT4 unfortunately. The Marketscope chart in the FX Trading Station is able to export tick data. When you open a ticket chart in Marketscope, goto the top left of the chart, and click on File > Export Data To Excel.
