Hot Trade 02/27/09
We're in our final day of trading in the King of the Micro contest and many traders remain long the JPY crosses despite the high volatility we're seeing in the forex markets...

Hot Trade 03/03/09
We're now on to a new month of trading in the King of the Micro contest and with major currency pairs like EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/CAD trading near critical levels, big trading opportunities abound. Our "Hot Trade" for today is a short EUR/USD position that one contestant placed upon a test of falling trendline resistance, and exited on a test of 1.2550. Is there a general consensus on where EUR/USD will go next? Do you think we'll see a break below the 2008 lows or a rebound?

Hot Trade 03/04/09
The US dollar has pulled back across the majors on Wednesday, helping GBP/USD to bounce from support at 1.4000, and one of our top 5 traders from Tuesday was well positioned for this move...

Hot Trade 03/05/09
I'm posting this trade mostly to see what others think about it: one of the top 5 King of the Micro contestants sold USD/CAD right at its recent top. Do others think that was a good move and that we'll see USD/CAD fall further, or will the pair break above the 2008 highs?

Bearish on USD/CAD. I think oil will be on the bull ride soon. This summer to break $100 again

What's your time frame on this USAF4ER? Do you think the release of US non-farm payrolls on Friday will have any impact on USD/CAD?

Hot Trade 03/09/09
Due to some technical difficulties I was not able to post on Friday, but here's our Hot Trade for Monday. One contestant opted to do a little range trading with GBP/USD, which was a good move at the time. Now, however, we've seen GBP/USD break lower. Does anyone think the decline in the pair will continue?

Top Traders using automated trading systems?
Hi, after looking at the Feb results, the top 3 placed an extraordinary amount of trades.. Were they using an automated trading system? What do you think?

Catching breakouts tends to yield big gains for traders, and one King of the Micro contestant did so with GBP/USD yesterday as he/she sold the pair upon a break of intraday trendline support. Where do other traders stand on GBP/USD? Will we see a more significant bounce from 1.3750 or are more losses in store?

Hi srh1, it does indeed look like many traders were using automated trading strategies, but on a day-to-day basis I often see contestants who are most likely not using systems and have far fewer individual trades. I should also note that while automated systems are allowed according to the contest rules, "picking" strategies are not and use of these may result in disqualification.

Picking is the use of technological latencies to exploit and manipulate price discrepancies. While we can't go into a more detailed explanation, be assured that you will not be accidentally "picking". If you don't know what picking is, you aren't doing it!

Looks like many contestants are trading on a very short-term basis and are aiming to catch intraday breaks in price. Our focus today is on a short GBP/JPY that one trader made about 300 pips on...are others feeling a strong bias on the pair or the JPY crosses in particular?

One of the top traders sold EUR/USD as price reached the upper band of its recent channel formation and consolidated below 1.2850. How do other people feel about EUR/USD?
