Hi mungrd,
Welcome to the Micro Forum! You have asked a great question...
The 3rd place did not meet the 10 trade requirement. Shouldn't they be disqualified?
We have never been critical about traders opening trades and not closing them by the end of the month. For example, if someone opened 10 trades in the month and did not close them out by the end of the month, they are eligible to win. Just the same, we also count trades that were opened in previous months and are closed during the contest month. What we look for is executed orders on 10 different tickets or more (whether they be opening or closing).
In this case, the trader had 12 individual tickets that had executed orders which made him eligible.

Thanks again for the question mungrd, and good luck in the contest!

This brings up another question though. The Malaysian finalist entered with 7 open tickets from November, opened 5 tickets in December and closed 9 tickets in total for the month of December. The contest rules state that: "Contestants must place a minimum of 10 trades (number of tickets) during the month. Failure to comply with this rule will result in disqualification."
I interpreted this to mean that contestants are required to place a minimum of 10 new trades in the month. Am I mis-interpreting this?

Hi ryancy,
Thanks for the post!
I just double checked the statement and see that it is the right set of data. The date that references May is actually the date the account was created and not the date the data was pulled from. I will edit the files though so that does not appear.
Thanks for the feedback! Let me know if you have any other questions!
