Incorrect Username or Password - Live Account

If you receive the error message, “Incorrect Username or Password” when logging into a live Trading Station II Account, then the login or password entered into the login window are incorrect.

Are the login and password correct?

If your username and password are correct, then there are several ways to resolve your login issues:

STEP 1: Change the Connection field to REAL to connect to a live account.

STEP 2: Click into the Login and Password fields and hit the BACKSPACE and DELETE buttons until they are both completely blank. Then manually re-enter the login and password by typing them in.

STEP 3: Check your records to make sure the correct login and password (CASE-SENSITIVE) are in each box. Do not COPY or PASTE the login or password into the login fields. If you did, please re-enter them manually by typing them in.

Are you still unable to login? Then a password reset is the best solution.

If you are still unable to login after completing the steps above, then the easiest solution is to reset your password.

You can reset your password online at www.myfxcm.com by clicking on "Forgot Password". For a visual guide to resetting your password online, click here.

If you are unable to reset your password online, then Click Here to Chat and we can reset your password. A new temporary password will be sent by email to the email address on file. You can update your temporary password to a unique password after you login.

Help! I can't login and I need to place a trade!

If you cannot log into your platform online, then we encourage you to call the trading desk. You can place trades by phone without any additional fees. Before contacting the trading desk, please have your account number and the details of the order you would like to place (buy/sell, order size and symbol).

    Cannot Connect to http Server

If you receive an error message that begins with, “Cannot Connect to fxcorporate.com server”, then the computer you are using cannot connect to the Trading Station II platform.

Why isn't my computer connecting, and how do I fix it?

If the computer you are using cannot connect to the Trading Station II platform. Here are some potential solutions:

    Windows Vista Users:

If you are using Windows Vista, right click on the Trading Station icon on your Desktop and select, “Run as an Administrator” from the drop-down menu. If you are not using Windows Vista, skip this step.

    Configure your Firewall:

Configure your Firewall. Your firewall may be blocking the FX Trading Station from connecting to the internet. To connect, please open your personal firewall settings and allow the FXCM Trading Station II with Internet Access.

Use a Wired Connection, if possible:

If you are using a wireless connection, please switch the connection to a physical connection and login. Sometimes a wireless connection will not be strong enough to support a real-time price feed and the weak connection will result in connection issues.
    • Tip: If you need to use a wireless connection, disable any symbols you do not trade to reduce the resources required to maintain your connection.

I am still having connection issues, what should I do?

If you are still experiencing connection issues, don't worry! There's a quick and easy way to test your connection by running a Trace Route and we have setup a full visual walkthrough of how to use it!

Where do I find my login information?

When originally signing up for your account your login details were sent to the e-mail address included in the application. The login name on your account will not change over time, so this e-mail will still have the correct information.

I can’t locate my login e-mail, how can I retrieve my login?

Retrieving your login information is a quick and easy process when using the online account portal located at MyFXCM.com!

Step 1: Navigate to MyFXCM.com and click on “Forgot Login/Password” on the main page

Step 2: Click on “Forgot Login ID?”

Step 3: Fill in the corresponding information for your account and select “Get Login ID”

Note: Telephone, E-mail and Primary / Joint Account Holder information is case sensitive

Step 4: A confirmation screen will appear informing you that the login details have been sent to your e-mail address

Step 5: Login to e-mail account and select the e-mail sent from MyFXCM

NOTE: Some E-mail filters will move auto-generated mail to a Spam or Junk folder. If you do not see the e-mail in your inbox, add FXCM to your e-mail contacts and check these folders!

My e-mail address has changed, is there another way to get my login?

Yes! If you need FXCM to retrieve your login, then Click Here to Chat Now and we will provide your login. If you prefer, you can email info@fxcm.com and request your login to be sent by email.

If you need further login help, please post your question and we will get you an answer!

How Do I Reset My Password?

If you have forgotten your password, the FXCM Trading Station and MyFXCM.com password can be reset through https://www.myfxcm.com/fxma/ by following the simple steps below:

Step 1. Visit https://www.myfxcm.com/fxma/ and click on the Forgot Login/Password? link located below the Login button.

Step 2. Click on Forgot Password?

Step 3. Enter your login and enter either the security question and answer for the account (CASE SENSITIVE) or enter your email address. Then click on the Get Password button to continue.

Keep in mind that the answer to the security question is CASE Sensitive. For example, if your mother’s maiden name is “Smith”, then there are three likely answers:

    • Smith

    • smith

    • SMITH

Step 4. Once you complete either field correctly, an email will be sent to the email address on file with a secure link page where you can create a new password. Passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters in length using both letters and numbers (at least one of each). All letters must be lowercase. For security purposes, the link will only be valid for 48 hours. If you do not reset your password within 48 hours, then you will have to start over by using Step 1.

Congratulations! Now that you have created a new password, you will be able to log into MyFXCM.com or the FXCM Trading Station to continue trading.

    Additional tips for logging in...
    • Do not COPY or PASTE the username or password into the login box. If you did, please re-enter them manually.
    • Make sure the correct user name and password is in each box.
    • Make sure the Connection field is set to REAL to connect to a live account.
    • Make sure there are no spaces before or after the user-name and password. To do this, click into each box and hit both the BACKSPACE and DELETE buttons several times. Re-enter the user-name and password according to the above.

If you are unable to reset your password online, then Click Here to Chat and we can reset your password. A new temporary password will be sent by email to the email address on file. You can update your temporary password to a unique password after you login.

I need to deposit or withdraw funds, now what?

Depositing and withdrawing funds is fast and easy! Both can both be done online by logging into myfxcm.com.

Many traders who have forgotten their password have stepped away from the market and are looking to get back into trading. If you need to deposit funds to continue trading, visit the Deposit Funds FAQ (Deposit FAQ) for quick answers to common funding questions.

We have aimed to make the process of withdrawing funds as convenient as possible. If you need to withdraw funds, visit the Withdraw Funds FAQ (Withdrawal FAQ).

If you need further login help, please post your question and we will reply with an answer!

It’s Friday evening or Saturday morning. Why can’t I login during the weekend?

When the trading desk is closed, we do weekly system maintenance. During weekly system maintenance (Friday afternoon to Sunday), you may not be able to log into the trading platform.

When is the Trading Desk Closed?

The Trading Desk is closed from:
    • Friday 4:00 PM to Sunday 5:15 PM New York time (EST)
    • Friday 9:00 PM GMT to Sunday 10:15 PM GMT.
    • Saturday 6:00 AM to Monday 7:15 AM Sydney time (AET)

    FXCM Trading Desk Weekend Calendar:

    Friday

    Saturday

    Sunday

When does weekly scheduled maintenance happen?

Maintenance starts after 4:00 PM Friday EST, usually by 5:00 PM, and can continue through the weekend. On many weekends the maintenance ends by Saturday afternoon.

If you attempt to login during the maintenance, you will receive a standard error messsage. The message you receive is not specific to your account, computer, or internet connection. You will be able to login after maintenance ends, and start trading after the 5:15 PM EST trading open on Sunday.

Feel free to visit the FXCM Platform Status Center any time you would like to view real-time updates about FXCM's platforms or services.

    Enjoy your weekend!

If you need further login help, please post your question and we will reply with an answer!

I know demo accounts expire, did my demo expire?

Demo accounts are in very high demand so they expire after 30 days of inactivity. If your demo account has expired, then don't worry!

Demo trading is a valuable tool and you are welcome to register for as many demo accounts as you like. To continue demo trading, please register for a new demo account by visiting one of the following links:

FXCM LTD (UK) Demo Account | FXCM LLC (US) Demo Account | FXCM Australia Demo Account

Are you ready to trade a live account?

Opening an account is a simple, three-step process.

    1. Complete your application online in minutes. Once an application is received and processed, a temporary ID will be sent by email within 1-2 business days. Once the application is complete and funds are processed, a permanent account number will be sent.
    2. Submit a government issued photo ID and a proof of residence. You may submit your documents as scanned images (JPG, GIF, BMP, DOC, PDF—no password protection please) to our New Accounts department at admin@fxcm.com OR via fax to 1-212-897-7669.
    3. Fund your account. Most clients find a debit card, credit card or bank wire to be the fastest and easiest funding methods. Once the application is complete and funds are processed, a permanent account number will be sent by email and you can begin trading right away!

How can I test my internet connection?

A constant connection is important when streaming live executable prices to your personal computer. If you are having trouble maintaining connection you may be experiencing data loss, which is different than losing Internet connectivity. Testing your Internet connection is easy to do and can help diagnose why you’re receiving the error message above and, even better, provide you with the exact information that you’ll need to help solve the issue. To check your settings, simply follow these instructions:

Step 1: On your Windows PC, click on “Start” or on in the lower left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Next, click on “Run” if you are using Windows XP, or click into the white search box if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Step 3: In the search box, type: cmd

Step 4: The Windows Command Prompt will pop up onto your screen. You screen should look similar to the following picture (there may be slight differences). Click into this box and type the following into the first line: tracert 204.8.240.1

Step 5: Press the “Enter” key and allow the Trace Route to complete. Below is a picture of a Trace Route that completed successfully:

How can I interpret the results of the Trace Route?

Knowing how to read the results of the Trace Route is as important as being able to run it! There are three different outcomes that are easy to spot, and we’ll explain each of them below:

What does a good Trace Route look like?

You will find a picture of a successful Trace Route below. What makes this Trace Route successful is that each “hop” (denoted by incrementing numbers) shows a time of less than 150 ms per test. The area that you should look at is circled in red below:

What does a problematic Trace Route look like?

A problematic Trace Route will appear similar to a successful Trace Route, with one exception: Sprinkled into the different hops, you will see an asterisk or two. This asterisk indicates that some of the data you’re sending or receiving isn’t making it through to your computer successfully. When you’re streaming live, executable prices to your platform, it’s important to make sure you’re receiving all of the information available. Below you will find an example of a problematic Trace Route:

What does an unsuccessful Trace Route look like?

An unsuccessful Trace Route will contain some or all of the following: Long hop times (typically above 300 or 400 ms), Asterisks where there should be trace times, and the line item that says “Request Timed Out.” Each of these will indicate that the data being sent or received from your computer is not coming through in a timely fashion, which will hinder the performance of your trading platform:

I’ve tested my connection and there is an issue, what are my options?

If you see these errors, don’t worry! We are here to help make sure that you’re able to manage your account.

Use a wired internet connection, if possible

Wireless internet connections can pose many unique issues due to the inherent limitations of the technology. Trading via a wireless internet connection is not recommended for this reason. If a wired internet connection is available, we recommend exclusively using this type of connection. Further, if you are using a router for your internet connection, resetting the router can resolve many connection issues.

    Contact your Internet Service Provider

If your Trace Route is problematic or unsuccessful, this is indicative of a connection issue. Connection issues tend to be temporary, and you can help expedite the solution to the issue by contacting your Internet Service Provider. Many times, they will simply need to reset something on their end to resolve the issue.

Trading Station Gateway is FXCM’s fastest platform yet, is accessible from behind most personal and corporate firewalls, and requires no downloading or installation. Many connection issues can be solved by moving to the Trading Station Gateway forex platform. Opening an account is a simple three-step process:

Step 1: Complete your application online in minutes. Once an application is received and processed, a temporary ID will be sent by email within 1-2 business days. Once the application is complete and funds are processed, a permanent account number will be sent.

Step 2: Submit a government issued photo ID and a proof of residence. You may submit your documents as scanned images (JPG, GIF, BMP, DOC, PDF—no password protection please) to our New Accounts department at Forex Trading | Forex | Forex Broker | Currency Trading | FXCM OR via fax to 1-212-897-7669.

Step 3: Fund your account. Most clients find a debit card, credit card or bank wire to be the fastest and easiest funding methods. Once the application is complete and funds are processed, a permanent account number will be sent by email and you can begin trading right away!

    Hi iwandana,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your post!

When trading is closed on the weekends, FXCM servers will be off and on and sometimes logging in will not be available. This is most likely what caused the error message that you were receiving. Are you able to login now? Please let me know by replying to this post or by email at rob@fxcm.com.
