What time Frames are available on the charts, and can I trade from the chart?

As currency traders FXCM understands that a trader needs to be able to view currency charts when on the go. That is why we have a number of options available to our clients for their charting and trading needs. There are currently two options to view charts on FXCM’s price feed while on the go.

How to place a stop and limit at trade open with FXCM UK or FXCM Australia

If your account is with FXCM UK or Australia you may set a stop and limit at the trade open, or once you have open trades. Let’s first see how to place a stop and limits at trade open.
For instructions on how to open trades click here.

Step 1 At the Create Market Order window you will have the option to set a stop and limit by clicking on the Stop or Limit toggle button.

Step 2 Once you have enabled stops or limits on your mobile platform you may then set the level you would like the stop or limit to execute at.

Step 3 Once you have applied all the relevant details for your new trade just click on the Submit button and the trade will go into execution.

Congratulations! You have now set up a stop and limit while opening a trade. It is very important to implement risk management on your trades, for more information on how to determine where to set stops and limits you can always look at our pivot levels section on DailyFX. Pivot Points are widely used by day traders to quickly determine where market sentiment may change between bullish and bearish. Pivot Points are also commonly used to find likely Support and Resistance levels.

What other tools do you use to determine where to set stops and limits on your Trade? Please let us know how we can be of further assistance on the forum, or by emailing us directly.

How to place a stop and limit at trade open with FXCM US?

Due to current regulation accounts with FXCM US may only set stops and limits from the FXCM Trading Station II. This is due to current FIFO requirements on all trades with FXCM US.

How do I adjust/add a stop and limit on an open trade?

The market certainly isn’t static, and many times your strategy isn’t either! It’s important to have the ability to be flexible and change your stops and limits on the fly, and the FXCM Mobile TS gives you this flexibility*!

Setting a stop and limit on your open trades is simple from the Mobile Trading station.

Step 1 Pull up your open positions

Step 2 Next go to the position you would like to apply changes to in the open positions and click on it. This will bring up a menu to edit your open positions, select stop/limit to edit your stop and limit click on the Stop/Limit option.

Step 3 In the Stop/Limit Order menu you may enable the stop and limit option on your trade by clicking on the toggle option in the platform.

Step 4 After you have enabled the feature you may now set the rate at which you would like the stop or limit to execute. The number below the stop and limit rates display the current market price on the instrument you are trading.

Step 5 Once you have set the stop and limit orders up you may click submit to apply them to your existing trades.

Congratulations! You have now set up stops and limits on your mobile trading station. You may now rest assure that if your stop or limit are hit the orders will execute and close your trade out.

*This feature is not available for clients with FXCM US at this time.

How do I set up an OCO order from my mobile trading platform?
OCO stands for "One Cancels Other." It simply means that if one part of the order is executed, the other part will be automatically canceled. On the Mobile Trading Station, Entry Orders that are linked as OCO orders will appear under the "OCO Orders" section of the Orders menu. An OCO order is useful when a trader is unsure about the direction the market will take, yet wishes to capitalize on either direction. Setting up an OCO on the mobile trading station is quick, and fairly simple, however unlike the FXCM Trading Station II the OCO order needs to be set up from existing pending orders.

Step 1 Click on the “View Order” icon

Step 2 Click on one of the entry orders you would like to set up as part of the OCO order. For instructions on setting up a new Entry Order please click here.

Step 3 Click on Create OCO Order

Step 4 Once the order is created you will receive a confirmation pop up on your mobile platform

Step 5 Next click on the Orders drop down menu and select OCO orders

Step 6 Scroll to the OCO order you have created and click on it, then select Edit OCO Order

Step 7 Next select the entry order you would like to connect to your new OCO order, click on it and select Add to OCO Group

Step 8 If you like you may add additional currency pairs to the OCO order by repeating the previous steps.

Step 9 Once you have completed the OCO setup select submit.

Step 10 Once the order is completed you will see the confirmation on your mobile platform.

Step 11 You will now see both orders linked under one OCO order.

Congratulations, you have now set up an OCO order on your mobile trading platform. Now you may rest assure that when one of the trades is triggered you will be in the trade you had wanted. How do you determine what currency pairs you will follow or which you want to trade?

How do I set up a stop and limit on an entry order with the mobile platform?

FXCM understands the need to set stops and limits before opening a trade. Currently our Mobile Trading Station is still in its beta test stage, and so we are still testing the current features to make sure they work properly, before we add in additional features. What other features would you like to see on our mobile trading station? If you have any requests please email help@fxcm.com or respond to this post directly and we will be happy to pass your requests and inquiries on.
