    New Account FAQs

    1. How can I apply for an FXCM Micro Trading Account?
    Applying for an FXCM Micro account is quick and easy. The online application only takes 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at the following link: Open a Forex Micro Lot Account


    2. Can I trade both my FXCM Micro and Standard account on the same trading station?
    You can access any of your accounts (Micro/Standard) on the same trading platform.


    3. When will I receive my live trading account number?
    Once your application is complete, you will immediately receive a confirmation email from FXCM Micro with your live trading account number and authorization for funding.


    4. Can I apply for an (IRA, trust, corporate, or joint account) with FXCM Micro?

    FXCM Micro solely offers individual self-traded accounts.

    If you would like to open an Individual Retirement Account, trust, corporate or joint account, you are invited to apply for one of our Standard Accounts. Additional documentation may be required to complete the application as requested by our operations department.

    5. I do not have a Social Security Number, but I live in the United States. Can I still apply for a FXCM Micro (LLC) Account?
    All United States residents are required to provide a Social Security Number. If you cannot provide this information, please complete an application for a Standard account with FXCM LLC by clicking here: FXCM - Open an Account. Your application will be processed within 1-2 business days of receipt. Additional documentation may be required upon receipt.

    Clients resident outside the United States do not require a Social Security Number to open an account with FXCM Micro.


    6. My application is complete, is there a time period I must fund my account by?
    FXCM Micro applicants are free to fund at their own convenience. However, all unfunded applications will be archived after 6 months, therefore you will be required to resubmit a new application if you want to make an initial deposit after that time. It is recommended that you fund your account upon receiving your account information. Should you decide to close your account, you can simply withdraw your full balance (administrative fee will apply).


    7. I entered the wrong email address on the application. What should I do?
    Please send an email to admin@fxcmmicro.com. FXCM Micro will respond to your inquiry within 3-5 business days.


    8. Can I have a copy of my online application?
    In the event a copy of the online application is needed for your records, please send an email request from the email address on file to admin@fxcmmicro.com.


    9. What other way can I apply for a FXCM Micro account aside from the online application?
    To enable us to offer our clients low spreads and minimal administrative fees, our online application is the sole application method offered. FXCM Micro's online application is convenient, easy, and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.


    10. I would like to share my account login with someone. Can we open one account and just share one login?
    FXCM Micro accounts are intended only for the individual who applied for the account. For security reasons we advise all clients NOT to share their login information with anyone else.


    11. A company I owned went bankrupt. Can I still apply for a FXCM Micro account?
    If the company you personally owned filed for bankruptcy, you will not be able to open an FXCM Micro account. However, you can still apply for a Standard trading account with FXCM LLC by click here FXCM - Open an Account, or with FXCM LTD by clicking here FXCM – Open an Account. Additional documentation may be required.


    12. I have completed the online application. How do I fund my account?
    After completing your application you will be routed to the confirmation page which includes a link to deposit funds. You may also log into www.myfxcm.com and click on Deposit Funds for all your funding options.


    13. Which currency denomination does FXCM Micro offer?
    FXCM Micro accounts are denominated in USD only. If you would like an account denominated in a different currency, FXCM offers Standard accounts in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, JPY, and NZD.

    14. Will I be asked to provide additional documentation once my application is submitted?
    Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation with your live account information. If additional documentation is required, FXCM Micro will send you an email requesting the appropriate information. Please note that though international clients will be able to begin trading as soon as their accounts have been funded, in order to complete transaction requests such as withdrawals or transfers, they will need to submit a copy of an ID and a copy of a proof of residency, such as a utility bill or a bank statement. Domestic U.S. clients will not need additional documentation unless otherwise prompted by the admin department.

    Acceptable government issued photo IDs include, but are not limited to: passports, driver’s licences, and national ID cards. Other types of government issued photo ID may be acceptable after review on a case by case basis.

    Acceptable forms of proof of residence include but are not limited to: utility bills, bank or credit card statements, and current lease agreements. These documents must be received in their entirety as we cannot accept payment stubs or folded documents. Confidential information such as account number(s) may be removed at your discretion.
