problem is indeed, the spread and the reaction time of your trading platform.
I have seen the spread go to 90 in extreme market conditions, wiping you out before you even started.
In lower volatile news events it is a little better, however you can lose both your trades within a second.
It used to work very well when we all knew that interest rates were going to be raised by .25% low risk, like printing money.
Thanks for the reply.I think that I kinda knew that going in to it. The wide spread was new to me though. I placed such a small initial order that it wouldn't have hurt my feelings to get burned a little. The bid initially stayed where it was at while the ask climbed and then it normalized before it took off. Any thoughts?

Good advice. I'm pretty much not interested in learning anything the hard way. The market is a stearn task master. I don't think that I would ever try something like that with a sizeable order.

OK, I added ADX 14, and 20 MVA, I dont have SMA with Marketscope. and wii ry not to confuse things just yet with BB, and Parabolic SAR. I am running 4 charts on one screen, not 4 screens with 1 chart each.

Nice!! looks like my platform.
The MVA you have with FXCM are SMA it's written in parentheses next to it.
Try to add BB at least for your stops. Use top & bottom +- a few pips
