    Backtesting on weekend

    Hello,

I have downloaded historical price data.
How can I test my Strategy with this data ?

How can I start Strategy Trader on weekend ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Fantasy_fan

    Hi Fantasy_fan,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting.

Once you have downloaded the historical data, you will be able to open up a chart with the data that you have downloaded. Then you will be able to attach the stEA on the chart to study the result of backtesting. Please take a look at the webinar at http://forexforums.dailyfx.com/strat...er-basics.html (Strategy Trader Basics) as for a walk through of strategy backtesting.

However, you might not be able to log in to Strategy Trader during weekend due to server maintenance.

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Regards,
    Jimmy

    data import failed

    Hi Jimmy,
    thanks for your support.

I tried to import the downloaded data with Quote Manager by creating a new symbol and import the ascii data. I got the message that "import was successfull".

When I create a new chart in strategy trader i can select my new symbol but theer is no data. Just see the message that there is "no data available".

    What went wrong ?

    Kind regards, fantasy_fan

    Hi fantasy_fan,

    Thanks for posting.

By default, not all currencies are available in the Strategy Trader. The other currencies must be activated through the trading station.

Please check out this link to learn more: http://forexforums.dailyfx.com/strat...e-manager.html (Adding new symbols in Strategy Trader from Quote Manager)

    Best Regards,
    Carl
