thanks... i guess the actual decision will be released tomorrow around 2pm EST. (please correct me if i'm wrong).

i think most people are expecting a 25 bp hike. but more importantly, the language will be key. if the statement implies potentially more hikes to come, i'd bet the USD starts strengthening and as long as no key resistence levels are broken, i'd be selling Cable and buying USD/JPY, but i'd expect choppy trading. However, if the statement suggests that they are leaning towards ending the cycle of rate hikes, then i think it'd be easier trading and i'd pretty much sell the USD across the board.

I am in the UK so the release will be 19:15 UK time, which will be 14:15 EST.

Personally, I hope they raise 25bps and signal that they are coming to the end of the cycle. Even better if they throw a spanner in the works and pause now !!

My advice would be to stay on the sidelines until at least 14:45 EST, maybe even 15:00 EST to allow price to whipsaw until a trend emerges. So you should probably close any positions you have open before the announcement is made and exercise patience before entering any new positions. Remember, it's the statement that's important, not the actual hike. Unless they go with 50bp which is extremely unlikely.

I've already settled in positions planning for the FOMC decision. If I'm wrong, which I doubt, I can quickly flip my positions the other way. All positions are severely in profit already anyway

    No Trade Cal

Well as of now we are approaching the FOMC so the market has become quiet and there is not any substantial move to see which side are we heading.. bfore the FOMC is out nothing is clear so even the chanels are not giving a clear pic of the market... So i am gonna stay out till the FOMC is out i dont have any positions as of now and wont form any until i find a strong reason on chanels to do it...

    Will keep you informed

    Cheers

    Morning all

As we are trading in dollars I thought some of you may find this site useful, www.jsmineset.com. It is one mans view and at times quite a strong view but I truly believe he has his readers best interest at heart. If you look into the background of this man you will find he is well worth listening to.

    hope its of some use.
