The two are pretty much separate.
I would say forex leverage requirement was not on the administration's radar when the 10 to 1 leverage proposal was announced.
What the administration has been focused on is 1) cap on oil position sizes which was recently enacted by the CFTC , 2) reduction in speculation by banks and further bank regulation and 3) eventual cap and trade for carbon emissions.
We have a discussion thread created where you can find details on how to email your comments on the 10 to 1 leverage proposal to the CFTC http://forexforums.dailyfx.com/new-c...0-1-limit.html (NEW CFTC proposed regulations for retail Forex: Leverage Subject to a 10-to-1 limit)

WEF annual meetings are held in Davos and attended by central bankers, prime ministers, finance ministers, trade ministers, and business leaders from over 90 countries. Most meetings are open to the press and officials usually talk with reporters throughout the day. Comments from central bankers and other influential officials can create significant market volatility.

The Australian interest rate news is still crushing the AUD this morning still...most all of the momentum this morning is on Aussie pairs across the board.
So "Aussie selling" is still the theme of the day so far.
