As you know by now, this is an online course where you have the opportunity to participate in a virtual classroom setting. Along with your own efforts, the classroom is full of other students and a team of Trading Coaches who will help you become a better FX trader.
In order to fully take advantage of this course structure it is vital that you interact with the other students as well as the coaches. Member participation is a key element of the course that will add significant value to your learning experience. Accordingly, it is important that you get to know your classmates so that you feel comfortable interacting with them and participating in the DailyFX Course online. This is YOUR course -- so it is essential that you take an active role by asking questions, offering your ideas, and interacting with other students for the duration of the course.
Below is a short description of the coaches who will guide you through the course. In the spirit of building a fun and educational classroom environment, the first assignment will be to introduce yourself to the rest of the class. Simply reply to this thread telling the rest of the class about yourself, your trading experience, and what you hope to gain out of this course.
Matt Russell has traded for both a hedge fund and independently for the last 7 years, specializing in equities, equity options and foreign exchange. He graduated NYU's Stern School of Business, majoring in Finance and Management in 1999 and played for the NYU Golf Team. Matt was introduced to financial markets by his father, who was a successful commodity trader for over 30 years. He grew up on Long Island and currently resides in Southern California.
Richard Krivo has been a high school teacher, a sales manager and, for the last 8 years, an independent currency trader. His interest in the economic and financial markets came from his father who was an accountant and actively traded equities. His trading style is mid to long term while using multiple time frame analysis as his preferred analytical tool. A native of Ohio, Richard has resided in the Dallas area for 6 years and works out of the FXCM office in Plano, Texas.
Jeremy Wagner has a degree in Mathematics and worked in the insurance industry for 11 years, partly analyzing the risk of firms and as a manager. He began trading equities and options in 2003 as an independent trader. Jeremy's approach to trading is to use mostly technical analysis with fundamentals factoring in on a longer term macro scale. His main focus is using those technical tools to create strategies that can be automated or traded systematically. He currently works in the Plano Texas office of FXCM.

My name is Pamela and have graduated with a Business Bachelors Degree with a major in Finance and minor in Economics. I recently started a family and with personal obligations I have decided to practice my skills through various activities such as volunteering, and trading at home which is when my husband introduced me to the FX markets. Even though I know the 'fundamental trading' through textbooks, the practice in real life is much more exhilarating and difficult with unexpected events and lots of 'would have, could have, should have' etc.
Both my husband and I fit the 'classic new trader' title, and have provided the much needed liquidity for a lot of traders on the 'winning' end. I decided and hope to with the completion of this course, and with much diligence, to graduate from being the 'new trader' to an active 'experienced' trader who relies on knowledge learned, and confidence gained rather than blindly following another persons view. I plan on putting to practice my knowledge and skills developed into practice for this course and hope to become a successful trader and analyzer.

Hello AnnieMags and welcome! You have come to the right place to learn more about trading one of the most liquid markets in the world!
Since you are fairly new to FX trading, I would suggest following the PLAN below.
Step 2 : Once you have a live account, you will have access to the resources below. Start by watching the following on-demand videos inside DailyFX Plus (a live FXCM account username / password is required ) :
1) Money Management
2) Trend
3) Support and Resistance
These 3 topics will provide you a foundation of a trading strategy. Additionally, we hold 20+ live webinars each week in the DailyFX Plus webinar room (you can access this room in the upper left hand corner of the video player). I would encourage you to follow the TRADE LIKE A PROFESSIONAL series. The TLP series helps traders tackle the emotions involved with trading and builds on the foundational principles learned in Money Management, Trend, and Support/Resistance.
Feel free to ask any questions in this forum area or interact with the trading coaches in a live webinar.
