Hey Everyone
Hey Everyone !
My name is Walker. You may see me posting here on the Forum as moderator2. I am really excited to get a chance to work with everyone on the FXCM Micro forums.
Regarding trading; I am deffinately a trader at heart. I began trading stocks and equity options at a pretty early age and still do so. Prior to working at FXCM , I worked as a trader on a prop equities desk as well.
I have really come to enjoy trading the strong trends of the currency market. As with any other form of trading , there is a sharp learning curve and currency is no exception. So I encourage everyone to post and post frequently to take full advantage of the resources here !

My name is Brad, and I grew up in Atlanta (even went to the Olympics in 1996) and went to college in Georgia (Go Dawgs!). My degree was in economics. During college, I spent a semester at Chinese University of Hong Kong as a visiting student. After graduating, I spent a year teaching English in China in Zhuhai. It's a "small" city of 1.3 million on the South Coast of China. It was a great experience, not just to experience and live in a different culture, but teaching as well. Once you've been able to keep a room of fifteen barely English-speaking kids in check on a Saturday morning for two hours, there are very few things you don't think you can conquer in the world!
While there, I was lucky to be able to travel throughout Asia (and Europe on the way home).
To give you some idea of where I've managed to get to: United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Netherlands, France, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Canada, and Mexico. Probably not all that impressive a list for some people...but that's still a lot of time in an airplane!
Whenever I speak with clients around the world, I find myself either thinking about the good time I had when I visited their country or how much I'd like to work in a visit. (Malaysian an SE Asian clients who know about the Perhentian Islands...that was my favorite vacation I've ever taken.)
I found my job with FXCM shortly after returning back to the States in the fall of 2006. When you sign up with an online retail FX firm, it's hard to know what to expect, but this job has definitely surpassed my expectations! My job at FXCM Micro has been a great opportunity to stay up-to-date and connected to people all around the world. Who would have thought that a nerdy economics degree could be put to such a good use?
I was lucky enough to join FXCM Micro shortly after it launched and have really enjoyed the experience. I currently coordinate the King of the Micro contest each month. Running daily updates, end-of-month reports, and best of all, interviewing the winners. It's one of the highlights of my job. I look forward to the results as much as clients. I'm always excited when a month ends to see not only who won and by how much, but how they did it. Clients never cease to amaze me. As cheesy as it is to say, I'm not just the coordinator of the contest, I'm also a fan.
It's been quite a ride to see Micro take off the way it has. Here's to many more years in the future!

Hello! I'm Moderator 4
Hey there everyone!
My name is Lena, also known as Moderator4. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Economics and Pyschology before coming to work with FXCM. I spend most of my days at the San Francisco office, a city I love as I grew up in the bay area. I was originally born in Ukraine and learned French for four years before spending a summer studying abroad there. Therefore I was excited at the potential to use my lingering language skills at FXCM. However, what really interested me about FXCM occurred after taking a course in International Economics at Berkeley and becoming fascinated with the effects that interelated markets had on each other.
I agree that currency trading is a learning curve and takes time. Literally, learning a new market is a bit like learning a new language. This Forum is a great place to connect with other traders from diverse backgrounds and diverse levels of experience. Assuredly, there is someone here who can answer your question or perk your interest.
Best,
Lena

Introducing myself
Hello,
My name is Ifeanyi...i'm a Nigerian,a dentist by profession....i have a bachelors in dental surgery, hence have been studying all my life...i first developed interest in forex like 2 years ago but didn't take any positive step towards learning, sometime ago some "forex gurus" this side were on a radio station inviting the public to a seminar where they presumably want to teach them everything about forex in a one day sssion for an exorbitant amount of money....i laughed, switched on my system and registered a demo account and have been practicing and learning very well.
My search for a reputable forex broker company to go live on led me to Forex | currency trading | forex trading | forex broker and to limit my risks,i discoverd the microlot account..so here i am trying to familiarize myself with the platform, learn from the forums and go live.Hope weachieve success together.
Dr.Ifeanyi
